Preparing for an Exam
Skills and knowledge you’ve acquired on the job along with recommended Puppet training courses are the best preparation for your certification exam. Review the certification overview pages, particularly the Qualified Candidate and Exam Objectives sections, to determine if you’re prepared. Recommended preparation resources are also listed for each certification exam.

Exam Registration
Exam registration is completed through the Pearson VUE site. You can search testing sites worldwide to find a time and location that’s convenient for you. Puppet certification exams are available worldwide.
Taking a Puppet certification exam costs $200 USD, and can be paid via credit card through the test provider. We recommend that you register at least 5 days in advance of the examination date to allow for processing of your registration and payment.

Exam Day Expectations
When you arrive at the testing center, you will be asked for two forms of identification. One of the ID’s must be a government issued ID (e.g., passport, driver’s license) that includes a picture. Both ID’s must contain a signature.
Immediately prior to the exam, you will be required to sign and review the Pearson VUE Candidate Rules Agreement and accept the Confidentiality Terms. Contents of Puppet certification exams are confidential and disclosure could compromise integrity of the exam process, and ultimately the certification itself.
Personal items, such as a mobile phones, laptops, pagers, and notes are not allowed in the testing area.
CANCELLATIONS:
If, for any reason, you are unable to keep your scheduled testing appointment time, you must contact Pearson VUE no less than 24 hours before the appointment to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Failure to do so will result in a forfeiture of any fees paid to Pearson VUE. Cancellations and rescheduled appointments can be made at www.pearsonvue.com/puppetlabs or by calling Pearson VUE at 888-536-1526.

Before beginning any Puppet certification exam, you will be required to accept the following confidentiality terms. By accepting these terms, you will also be agreeing to the Puppet Certification Program Agreement

You may not disclose (verbally or in writing, by any means) the Exam Content to anyone not authorized by Puppet Labs. You may not copy or reproduce any part of the Exam Content. If you violate these provisions, in addition to any remedies it may have at law or in equity, Puppet Labs may immediately cancel your Certification and ban you from eligibility to take any further Puppet Labs certification exams. Earning a Certification
Once your passed certification exam is validated, you will receive:
- A welcome email that contains your official digital certificate
- Your certificate will have a unique certification number that identifies the order in which you earned your certification amongst all certified individuals for that certification
- This certification number can also be used for verification purposes
- Access to the logos for the Puppet certification you’ve achieved, along with recommendations and guidelines for using it
