What are the types of partners?
There are two primary types of partners: technology and systems integrator/reseller. Technology partners work with Puppet to develop new integrations or capabilities for the Puppet platform. Systems integrator/resellers partners provide the professional services or consulting to help Puppet customers set up and maintain their Puppet deployments. They may also provide training in the markets they serve.
How do I apply to become a partner?
Both types of partners can apply by completing the application form. We will contact you with more details and to evaluate whether your organization fits our objectives for the partner program.
Do I have to pay to become a partner?
There is no fee paid directly to participate in the partner program. Systems integrator/reseller partners, however, will be expected to to attend Puppet training sessions so they are fully informed of the capabilities of the Puppet platform.
How do I become trained?
Puppet offers numerous training sessions each quarter in North America, Europe and Asia. You can review the training schedule for upcoming sessions. Partners can attend training at a discount.
Do I need to be certified?
As of the second quarter of 2011, there is not a certification program, but there is a possibility we will add one in the future.
Can I resell Puppet Enterprise?
Yes. Authorized service partners can purchase Puppet Enterprise at the price discount reflected in their Agreement when registering their deals.
Can I still work with Puppet?
Members of the Puppet Partner Program are encouraged to work with Puppet Enterprise to receive the full benefits of the program.
How do I register opportunities to sell Puppet?
Partners can register their opportunities via a form available just to partners. Once you are approved for the program we will provide you with this information.
Will Puppet Labs share leads with partners?
Yes. Puppet Labs’ website and campaigns generate leads in all geographic markets. We will share leads with partners that exhibit a preference for promoting Puppet Enterprise.
What materials will Puppet Labs share to make it easier to sell Puppet?
Approved partners will have access to our partner portal, including materials for training, sales and competitive materials. You will also have access to recorded sessions with tips on selling Puppet.
What types of skills are essential to success as a Puppet Partner?
Our most successful partners have strong technical skills combined with experience delivering value to their customers. Whether your focus is systems management, cloud computing or compliance, you can leverage your expertise to deliver powerful and unique solutions for your customers.
Can I get an exclusive on a particular territory or region?
No, but we will do our best to not create conflict between partners in our territory.
